Summer Learning Journey

Kia Ora,
This is a bonus activity for week 4.
Although most of you are quite familiar with the idea of taking a ‘selfie’ (picture of ourselves), this was not always the case. In fact, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that people started talking about the idea of a selfie, taking selfies and posting them online.

In honour of the rise in popularity of the ‘selfie,’ take a selfie and post it on your blog. Try to show us at least one of your hobbies or one your favourite things (maybe a special toy or book). For example, here is a selfie of Hazel drinking a big mug of tea, and Rachel with her son, Aronui, attending a Paw Patrol show!

One of my favourite books

Hanging out with my pony Pippen

Listening to music

My brother with my foal Elfie
Me with our dog Poppy

Summer Learning Journey

Kia Ora ,
This is task 3,
For this task we had to watch a video about Waka Ama and explain why we did or didn’t want to Waka Ama.
Here is my work.

I would want to Waka Ama. It looks like lots of fun and I love the water.

Summer Learning Journey

Kia Ora ,
This is task 2. For this task I had to write a letter to one of my  friends about how I feel about moving to a new country.

Here is my work.

Dear Louisa,
Today I am moving to a new country by Waka.I am very nervous. There is a long journey ahead of us, I hope it doesn’t rain on the way.

Summer Learning Journey

Kia Ora
This morning I did my first Summer Learning Journey task. I read the book Maui and the giant fish it was very interesting. Here are three facts I found.

1  Maui's hook is made from his ancestor Murirangawhenua's jaw bone.

2 Maui has four brothers and their names are  Māui-taha, Māui-roto, Māui-pae, and Māui-waho.

3  Each name of Maui, belong to Hawaiian legend.

If you like stories about Maui my favourite story is How Maui found his mother.
